Back in the game!

Now, it is time. Time to get back into this…. but what do I build?

Ideas on stuff to build

I started working on this application “WardMax”. Essentially an iPhone app that tracks the credit cards you have and all the points/cash back rates so you pull up the app, type in a store or spend category and it tells you what card to use. or just a great app to keep this info archived. now this is VERY useful to me, I have 8 credit card each with different categories and rates. and In order to Pointsmaxx I need to keep track of all these rates

I started working on the app around this time last year, but OF course with life obligations I have delayed it to an year. Working on this app will be my priority, I still need to figure out the storage system since CoreData crapped out for some reason SwiftData will take precedence and hopefully it only takes me a month or so to complete. Then I can move on to bigger and better(dumber) apps

Me delaying on apps is nothing new, AnimeSwiftForm took about 2 years to complete even thought it should have taken 2 months. I need to remain focused and disciplined

Afterwards I will probably work on AmericanRail which is basically a mock railroad app thingy, This will be my most ambitious project yet There are also improvements to AnimeSwiftForm and other one off apps, here is just a small list of what I plan on working on:

• Notes transfer website
• App that tracks car stats using iPhone and Apple Watch
• Apple TV app, MPV port with SMB functionality
• TurboGrafx 16 emulator for macOS (Mednafen with SwiftUI wrapper)
• Some app or thing to manage all MFA codes on iPhone

There is a lot to work on, The focus will be on NATIVE apps for macOS or iOS. Pretty much anything apple. all built with SwiftUI or similar tech MAYBE something for Windows. I tried using wxWidgets and C++ before but nothing came out of that… I might come back to it.

And no WebApps of any kind, only websites if absolutely necessary. Frankly JavaScript is a mess and should not be used, Electron was a mistake and it should’ve never been made

This is me… In the fight against web apps and their BS

So basically Electron bad. It is inefficient and bloated, It’s no wonder why Microsoft Teams is a piece of FUCK. I’ve sort of had a tipping point and I updated all of my tooling. I went from VS Code to Zed, which is an awesome NATIVE text editor. I ditched Bruno and went to RapidAPI for all of my API testing And now I’m using Sketch instead of Figma. Sure, It’s expensive but since I’m a student I get it for free (At least for now). It’s honestly a great piece of software and it replaced both Figma and Inkscape when it comes to app layouts and Vector Designs Figma has not been the same since Adobe bought it. I left Adobe XD for Figma and now I left Figma for Sketch, I just hope Sketch doesn’t go to shit

I realize that this very autistic of me But I just don’t like running web based apps, If it’s meant to be in the browser then let it live in the browser, Don’t make some app out of it We NEED more native apps, And this part of the reason on why I don’t do web apps anymore personally. Let the web technologies live in the web, and let the native technologies live in the OS as an APP
